Heroes Derailed by Diarrhea

toilet.jpgNothing was going to stop the Mbale Heroes in their relegation battle with the mighty Uganda Super League champions URA earlier this week. They were fired up, ready to go, but in the end they simply failed to show up.

In a tried and true excuse for why they didn’t show up for work, the Heroes cited diarrhea for why they were, um, running late for the game

Heroes wrote to national football league secretary Moses Magogo on Saturday requesting that the match be rescheduled to allow their players recover. Magogo rejected the initial plea but was forced to give the Mbale side a hearing after they sent supporting documents yesterday.

“They sent a fax last Saturday which I saw on Monday but I turned down their request because they hadn’t attached supporting medical documents,” Magogo revealed.

“They later sent some medical documents very late which I could not readily interpret. I am waiting for Dr. Ronald Kisolo to look at their documents.”

There is an important lesson in all this, kids. The next time you go on a bender and end up on the toilet the next day make sure you have the proper documents in place to show your employers.

Personally, I think they should have been forced to play through the pain.
