Samuel Eto’o Named FifPro African Footballer of the Year
By: Bob | November 21st, 2006
After an outstanding year at Barcelona, Samuel Eto’o was named African Footballer of the Year by FifPro today in Algiers. The diminutive forward who is currently out with a knee injury took home the big prize, if tacky art is your idea of a big prize. Eto’o is also in the running for the Ballon d’Or, although every report out there indicates that the Golden Ball has Fabio Cannavaro’s name stamped on it. Morocco’s Mustapha El Haddaoui was named African Footballer of the Century at the Algiers award ceremony. I’m not sure who he slept with to receive such an award.

Hope they took didn’t take the price tag off before handing that picture to Eto’o. He could probably exchange it at Wal-Mart for a jug of cranberry juice.

Mustapha El Haddaoui is one the gifted soccer player for all time . He’s in same category as Zico – Maradona-Flcao-Platini. I ‘m very happy that he won this award.
Great work !
