Angry Mobs & A Flying Kick In China
By: chris | July 26th, 2010
Ah, Chinese football – the future of sport as entertainment. The league is something of a practice in perfecting footballing extracurriculars, and as such they’ve undergone a number of image hits in recent years; martial arts comparisons, minor scandals, massive scandals, etc.
The latest in their run to footballing supremacy comes from a fan who was displeased with his team, Qingdao, being given a second red card within a three minute period. So he did what any rational mind would do and ran onto the pitch to give the referee a flying kick. Just like that.
There is no video as the internet would surely crash, but there are stills for the moment.

The fan, who Chinese Google translations tell us is unemployed, hence the unnecessary aggression, was then removed from the pitch by security, but not before looking menacingly back at the approaching popo as a ballboy snuck in an opportune and potentially career-defining shot.

The referee’s day would only get better as a mob of Qingdao supporters surrounded his car in the parking lot…

…and then proceeded to kick that too.

Business as usual in China, which is precisely why they hold the future of football – Google be damned.
