Kashiwa Reysol Goalkeeper Yuta Minami’s Own Goal Blunder

By: Bob | January 10th, 2007

There is probably an excuse for what happened to Kashiwa Reysol keeper Yuta Minami in the video below. Perhaps the ball was slick or maybe he was wearing some gloves that weren’t broken in or maybe the Japanese mafia paid him off or maybe he just woke up that day and decided to suck. Whatever the reason, his colossal blooper has to rank up their with some of the biggest goalkeeper blunders of all time.

Good point Bense, I'm a ref myself, but you can't expect them to know how to deal with that type of situation... Otherwise, HAHHAHAHAHA
  • I'm not too sure about a goal on that. I think according to the FIFA rule book, a ball can not be scored with the hand. Therefor, it should be a corner and no goal. A throw-in can't be a goal as well but rather a kick-off or a corner. But the fewest refs still know that in the first place in Asia anyways.

Based on the crowd numbers, at least it was only his close family members who saw it live.
