Augustin Binya puts the ‘horror’ in horror tackle

Augustin Binya commits lots of fouls, but never made such a dangerous tackle before.
His 6 games penalty is well deserved, and I hope it will make him learn a very big lesson. He can do it, he's very young and has just arrived for serious competition.

To put Augustin Binya in perspective to some real rogues mentioned above, Gattuso earns his living by commiting low intensity fouls that destabilise the opponents, Matterazzi commits systematically faults of all intensities and makes dirty tricks, like Paulinho Santos did (only that P.S. was much less physically impressive). Since he started to play (since middle september only!) Binya uses to make fouls mostly of low intensity, but sometimes though (hardly no-one does though fouls all the time; perhaps Ayala from Argentina/Valencia; I think is more common in defenders than in middle-fielders). He has been not much different than Gattuso. Gattuso and Matterazzi are very good players, Paulinho Santos was good, at most (who remembers his plays, apart from a goal against Austria?), and Binya is too soon to tell, but seems to be strictly defensive so far.


I think my good friend Zberetz gave an answer to Mr.Bogas pretty much exagerated, i.e. in the same style of Mr.Bogas. But then again, narrow-mind people tend to enfuriate others.
The suggestion that such an behaviour was possible only in Benfica (notice that he is only considering Portuguese football) suggests that Mr.Bogas is conformist person who cannot rebel in serious matters and therefore unleashes his anger into the beautifal game.

Bogas is an Emmerdeur. It is therefore appropriate that he chose a nickname which is the denomination of the worst type of fish, one that famously wanders around sewer exits.

Finally, thank the ancient gods that Brown is fine. I'll raise my Lagavulin to that.

He got six games, and if would have been more, I would agree.

But of course Totti, Materazzi, Gatuso, Desailly, Keane and others would have a different treatment, wouldn't they? Money talks...

As for jealous underachievers portuguese commenters, be reminded of those tremendous FC Porto fairplay examples like Fernando Couto, Secretário, Paulinho Santos (funny thing, no one remembers them as players except for their nasty tackles; oh, so much for vanity again).

I think Binya should be completely eradicated from soccer, he's always making this kind of tackles in the Portuguese league, he wasn't born to soccer, I think he should apply for a position as kick boxer.

It's a shame that a Portuguese club has players like Binya, only in Benfica...

Unreal. I haven't seen a tackle that bad since that Russian league foot-to-face tackle...which was about 2 weeks ago. But nothing before that. I am really glad that Brown is ok, that could have been career threatening.

Three to four matches. That was a leg-breaking tackle, and it's just luck that Brown isn't out for both Celtic and Scotland for a long time. That kind of tackle cannot be tolerated by UEFA, especially in the Champions League. Players can't think they can get away with taking out a player that's outplaying them, as Brown was completely outplaying Binya, or the big stars of the continent are put in danger. I would give four or five matches, but it will likely be three.
