The Champions League Gets Serious
By: Bob | October 30th, 2006
After seeing this picture, we now know the secret training methods of Chelsea. Apparently chasing your teammate around trying to pants him is as good of a way as any to prepare for a match against Barcelona at the Nou Camp. Chelsea has reason to be upbeat entering Tuesday’s match. With three straight wins in the Champions League including one over Barcelona at Stamford Bridge, the English side is almost a sure bet to advance to the knockout round.
The prospects aren’t as great for defending champions Barcelona, which enters the match with a four points in Group A and the very real possibility that another loss to Chelsea could leave them on the outside looking in.
Another powerhouse facing a must-win match is Inter Milan. Coming off a solid win in the Milan Derby, the Italian side can ill afford to lose to Spartak in their Group B tilt in Moscow. Arsenal and CSKA meet up in London and control their own destiny, while Porto needs to beat Hamburg SV to stay in the race in Group G.
Here are the fixtures for matchday 4. You can tune in online for free via our Chinese pirates friends or by depositing money in the coffers of ESPN.
