Dynamo Moscow Comes Under Paintball AttackBy: The Offside | October 19th, 2012
So this is a new one: ultras in camo shoot underperforming players with paintballs.
There’s no real place in the world for people who take a sport so seriously they need to don field & leaf patterned clothing to dart into the night after launching balls full of paint at other human beings for their inability to kick a ball up to certain standards. Well, unless you count Moscow recently.
The Dynamo Moscow players were hit with a slew of paintballs at training on Friday. Apparently losing 8 of your first 11 really ticks off some fans.
“Words fail me,” he told R-Sport. “What should we do? Should each of us hire a personal bodyguard? I was hit in the back of the head when they shot at us, lots of players were hit.
“I didn’t even realise what they were shooting with, perhaps paintballs, they were in camouflage and fled pretty quickly. It was vile. Fans should support us, not do this type of thing.
“I’m still in shock. I have a small child at home, we’ve all got families. What if someone got seriously hurt? What would happen then? I will take advice from some people and decide whether to seek prosecution, because this was an attack.”
This is really asking for some avant-garde justice. Maybe some paintballs in return, the frosty Siberian tundra and Nigel De Jong all rolled into one Chuck Norris-esque ball of action.
