Ending The Career Of An Opponent On Live Television? Bad Idea.
By: chris | September 25th, 2009Don’t Scandinavian footballers realize they have these crazy new inventions called televisions and from these televisions we can see pretty much damn near anything that happens on the field of play for 90 minutes? Mad, I know, but true.
After yesterday’s subjective goal mouth regulations we get word of a “horror tackle” in Norway, which upon review looks more like “impending criminal charges”. Aalesund and Odd Grenland were taking part in a cup match when Aeselund’s Johan Arneng nudged Odd’s Kennet Dokken, who took great exception to this nudge (of course – what’s a nudge if not a great disrespect to one’s manhood?). So he proceeded to pull a Nancy Kerrigan on Arneng’s knee. As is typical for Scandinavian referees, apparently, he did not see it, but televisions (!) did.
It’s probably advisable that Dokken lawyer up real quick.

maybe it’s just me, but after reading the build up, i was expecting the tackle to be much worse than that…

the problem i have with the video is that it doesn’t show what Arneug did to Dokken first. at the start of the video, it looks like he’s bent over like he’s just received a nut shot.

Methinks Dokken will get some extra attention from opposing players should he be allowed to take the field again.
In positive looking news, at least Johan Arneng looked to be walking off the pitch so hopefully the assault did not cause major damage.

Yeesh. Dokken has crazy eyes. What an a-hole. Deserves to be banned for a good while.

That tackle wasn’t THAT bad…sure, it’s suspension material but it’s not remotely as bad as the article says.
