Game of the Weekend

Would you believe it wasn’t in Spain? You shouldn’t…but it wasn’t. No, it was actually in Greece and not even in the Super League, which has been over roughly since Olympiacos first took the pitch in the fall. The game of the weekend was the Greek Cup final between Athens clubs AEK and those Greek champions Olympiacos.

This is one of those games where the scorelines do the talking:

End of regulation: 3-3
End of extra time: 4-4
End of penalties: 15-14 Olympiacos.

That’s…thirty-seven balls into the back of the net. Absolutely astounding.
