Jan, thank you. Now it helps me to confirm what I had been suspecting for a while. Especially given both Everton and Tottenham both went out of their respective UEFA Cup matches...on penalties.

Oh, and of course I use the inside of my foot for greater accuracy.

To be honest, I haven't taken a staggering number of penalties, but of the one's I have taken, I've got probably a 95% success rate, which I guess should be expected...

Well, My method is this:
if using the right foot, stand on the left side of the ball, angled directly at the right goal post (your right)
run straight, kick straight, nail it into the right side.
If using the left foot, do the exact opposite.
Very, very simple.
I think that's the key, really, everyone does all sorts of special complicated things to confuse keepers, and now they expect it. Throw simplicity in, and they have no idea what hit them.

I tend to hit it down the middle as hard as I can, Neeskens style. Most of the time the Keeper will move.

Look at you on the front page, I likey. I usually throw a Figo-esque stutter step in there, and I have also tried the chip-cum shot where you go straight at the ball and when you swing your leg you point your foot at an angle of a chip but put alot of power in it to power the ball into the roof of the net, right down the middle, because keepers love to dive in a direction. Seems to work for me. But the good ole side foot to the corner is always the best way.
