The Woodwork Is Not Necessarily A Goalkeeper’s Best Friend.

By: chris | May 4th, 2009

“Expect to see this clip on a cheesy sports TV show, and probably a number of other football websites, at some point soon.”

Ask and you shall receive.

These seem to have been popping up a lot lately – the old “ball off the post off the keeper and into the net” type goals. Just ask Rowen Fernández. And it makes one wonder two things: One…should coaches be preparing their goalies for this? And two…are goalposts the world over exacting revenge?

Perhaps they don’t feel appreciated enough for the bone-jarring hits they take on a weekly basis to save their keeper’s arse. There might actually be a movie in here somewhere – Revenge of the Angry Goal Post. Check your local listings.
