The World’s Worst BackpassBy: The Offside | April 18th, 2012
Occasionally, we’ll be delighted with a criminally short backpass that finds a streaking poacher for his moment of glory. That’s sort of your standard screw-up.
This is the spectacular. Who beats his own keeper for the halfway mark under little to no pressure? Is this man, Ante Vulusic, the Roger, the Marcos Senna, the Xabi Alonso of the own-goal? There are worse things to be in football, surely, than identifiable, if identifiable by your failures.
Which everybody laughs at.
