Video: Results from Saturday’s Super Cups

As mentioned in a post earlier this week, each of the major European football leagues has a curtain-raising match before the top leagues start their proper weekly football. These are often “supercups”, where the winner of the league plays the winner of the top domestic cup, or the winners of the two domestic cups play each other. It’s a good chance to have what is really the last match of the preseason mean something, since there is a trophy involved, even if that trophy is probably the least important one given away all season. There were a number of these today and we’ve got the video highlights. The standout individual performance has to go to Teofilo Gutierrez, who scored all three goals for Trabzonspor to win the Turkish SuperCup, all within 20 minutes. :
