The Babel penalty was definitely not a penalty. Nice way to throw yourself at the ground, diver. Yes, I dislike Liverpool (as I do most English teams — oddly I except Arsenal from this), but looking at the replays and having seen it live, there’s no way in freaking hell that’s a penalty.

I don’t give a damn if the Hleb play is a penalty or not (though the idea that the same ref should ref both legs for consistency’s sake is something to think about) because Ryan Babel earned a freebie for Liverpool. Period. End of story. Disgusting.

And now another snoozefest of a semifinal while the other side should be lit up like a Christmas tree: Barca and ManU. We’ll see what happens today, of course, but all signs point to that matchup.

So 3 of 4 CL teams are English, again, or at least half. If Barca gets bounced, I probably won’t even watch the final since the match will have already been played at least twice in the domestic season. It’s like Pistons-Spurs in the NBA finals: who gives a crap?

The highlights were amazing. Theo Walcott and that run! I can’t wait to watch the full game. As much as I hate to say it, Torre’s goal was great. Heartbroken for Arsenal though.

Wow. So much for reasoned conversation Chris. You can’t know someone from a forum post to guess my intentions. I’m not a Liverpool homer. I posted somewhere after the last match that Liverpool got a lucky away “win” in the CL again – like Barca last year. I’m not delusional Chris.

Frankly I thought the Kuyt tug was more the penalty too. But you said that if one were a penalty the other should’ve been. That’s ridiculous. The circumstances and buildups and players and refs to both were different – its a useless comparison. (That there is an opinion, too – take it or leave it but I presented three reasons I felt the comparison was weak).
