Worst. Miss. Ever.

By: Martha | December 13th, 2007

Lyon dominated Rangers in their Champions League match yesterday, and ended up with a well-deserved 3-0 win. When Jean-Claude Darcheville missed from two yards, though, it was just 1-0, and Rangers still had hope. Ouch. (Just for kicks, keep watching after the miss to see why all of Europe is after Karim Benzema.)

  • What a miss! Although given the players involved I think it might have been marginally worse when Cristiano Ronaldo did the exact same thing last year. (It's in this clip somewhere, but the whole thing is spectacularly worth a watch.)

I adore this kid -- he's not only unbelievably talented, he's incredibly well-grounded and comes across as ego-free and just plain nice. The kind of kid you'd want your daughter to marry.

I felt bad for Darcheville yesterday, but Lyon deserved to go through. Better luck in UEFA Cup, Rangers.
