Danijel Pranjic Tells It Like It Is

116898hp2The left-footed wonder hasn’t exactly lit up the Allianz during his brief stint there, but he’s got some skills and skills will go a long way in a place like China. A really long way – all the way to the bank and back a few times.

And Danijel is perfectly happy with that, saying proudly, “It’s all about the money.” Seems a bit rare in football at times, particularly when it comes to the career twilight contract in your favorite Asian or North American league.

“I got an offer from China that was truly impossible to refuse. The offer is startling in a financial sense. It is unbelievable. The money is really great.

“I haven’t signed it yet. I have to talk with my family, primarily my beautiful wife, but honestly I’m on the verge of making the decision to sign for a Chinese club. I have pretty much decided because, as I said, it’s an offer that can’t be refused. I believe I will sign the contract.”

Not an entirely unique admission, certainly, but it’s kind of nice to hear someone who isn’t waxing on about the quality of football in Azerbaijan, ain’t it?
