Everyone At Bayern Hates The Europa League

ribery_jubel_468x345 We get it: no one would choose the Europa League. Certain clubs of a certain stature have no place in the Europa League outside of a delicious dollop of schadenfreude, and one of those clubs it Bavarian behemoth BM.

First Arjen Robben took the tournament which had never done anything to anyone and threw it under the bus. Now Franck Ribery says it’s “rubbish”.

So no one at Bayern likes the Europa League. Got it.

Franck:

“The Champions League is incredibly important for the team, the club and the fans,” he said. “The Europa League is rubbish and we have got to avoid that.

“The best way is not to even think about that. Playing in the Europa League is no fun at all.

“Once you know the Champions League, then you always want to play in the Champions League.”

If you imagine the “Champions League” to mean “big breasted underage hookers” and Europa League to mean “run-of-the-mill street riff raff”, this quote gets infinitely better.

Unfortunately, the Europa League is seen as a secondary tournament by the big clubs. It is more of a league for second tier teams that can't always compete with the big clubs for players, fans and revenues. I think the Europa League would be a little more interesting if the winner was guaranteed a spot in the following year's Champions League draw.

Well, sweet, then. Have fun watching the champions league on the telly. Otherwise, BM would be LUCKY to win the europa league. Arrogance without substance.
