Four Match Ban Worthy?

Dede was sent off in the 76th minute of the Schalke-Borussia Dortmund derby over the weekend for the above tackle on Ivan Rakitic. Today, The German Powers That Be decided this tackle was worthy of four games watching from somewhere that ain’t the field. There’s no plan of an appeal, but it seems awfully harsh to me. A bit reckless, but not malicious.

  I guess I’m missing how that’s any worse than a normal red card offense. Four matches is way too much.
