Mario Gomez is the new Remi Gaillard

[Dirty Tackle]

Red Bull have thrown themselves firmly into the viral market, beginning last year with David Bentley and his top-of-the-building lofts and now adding Mario Gomez to their team of footballers whose transfer fees made a few heads snapback twice.

This comes off as a clear homage to French trickster extraordinaire Remi Gaillard, whose serious street football skills and penchant for comedy have made him quite the phenomenon. And this Gomez clip in particular reminds of Gaillard’s Foot 2008 (after the jump) – only that one wasn’t computer generated (though you may do some fruitless huffing by telling us it was all done on the first take).

I'm a fan of the German team, Stuttgart, and Bayern Munchen, but when this video is placed next to real world evidence of his inability to put the ball in a VERY BIG GOAL that is *right there*... well, it becomes funnier for a whole different reason. *sigh*

Gomez comes off pretty cheap using CG when compared to Gaillard (who makes some of the funniest videos on the web) IMO.
