Tim Wiese Is Going To Need A Hug And/Or Therapy

After having a less than splendid week in Europe – again – Tim Wiese probably relished the chance to go back home to the Bundesliga to get back some sense of normalcy. Only he was facing the monster that is Mario Gomez and Stuttgart, last year’s title winners. By the time the game was over, Tim had let six goals past him (six!) as the two sides combined for nine in a 6-3 goal scoring bonanza. More importantly, Werder failed to keep pace with Bayern, who won their match 2-0 and now have a 7 point lead at the top of the table. If you see Wiese walking around, give the man a hug – he’s going to need some love. (And for the record, Werder’s non-defense was to blame for much of this, but given his last week, I’m sure it’s not making him feel a whole lot better.)

(And if you didn’t already know, Mario Gomez is an absolute phenomenon, who was probably looking at #4 before Per Mertesacker hit him with a terribly timed tackle and earned himself a straight red. I’m also on record as having once called Mario “big German sex with a Spanish name on the pitch”. Run with that however you see fit.)
