Tomislav Piplica has a Habit of Making Goalkeeper Blunders

By: Bob | December 11th, 2006

People who tuned in to watch the Bundesliga match between Bayern Munich and Cottbus on Saturday probably didn’t expect to see anything uglier than Oliver Kahn’s face, but thanks to the heroics of Cottbus keeper Tomislav Piplica there were nightmares aplenty. Piplica is a minor celebrity of sorts to those who follow German football because of his ridiculously amusing own goal against Borussia Monchengladbach in 2002. The 37-year-old Serbian keeper added to his legacy against Bayern by turning a realitively easy shot by Bastian Schweinsteiger into an off-the-keeper’s face goal. The video goodness is below.

  • Just one mistake. Piplica is from Bosnia and Herzegovina, not from Serbia.
