Alfonso Alves Scores Seven Unspectacular Goals in a Game

By: Bob | October 8th, 2007

If you watch a youth soccer game oftentimes there is a player who is so much better than everyone else that he should be playing against older kids. That kind of what it is like in the Netherlands where Brazilian striker Alfonso Alves has demonstrated his mastery of the Eredivisie. After scoring 35 goals in 31 games last season, the Heerenveen striker continued his domination this weekend by scoring a league record seven goals in a game against Heracles Almelo. Seven goals in Holland is about the same as 16 in Cyrpus. As you can see from the video above, the goals were hardly spectacular and Alves almost seems embarrassed to be scoring them by the end. You can also see that the Heracles Almelo defense would be shredded by most youth teams.

I'd rather have Sylvester Stallone in at keeper.

I don't like scoring that many goals in Fifa. I'm sure Huntelaar is thinking he needs to net at least 10 against that team to be taken seriously for a big money move to the likes of Man U.
