There were a lot of goals in the 2007/8 Eredivisie. About ten billion at last count, so well done to Setanta for sorting thruogh the pile and picking their favourites. And well done to the YouTuber who made the goals available to the whole world. Here are the goal scorers:

* I think. The goalscorer’s name is cut off from the start of the video, but my intensely academic research indicates it’s Lamah.

Very hard to pick a favourite, not least because it seems from the video that every player in the Eredivisie can fire balls into the upper 90 at will. Do they teach that in Dutch schools or something?

But if pushed, my top three are:

1. Loïc Loval - volleys the ball in the same direction it was already travelling, which can’t be easy
2. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar - great technique and narrow angle
3. Lorenzo Davids - woosh, direct and fierce
