Ashley Carew Scores a Free Kick From His Own Half

By: Daryl | August 12th, 2008

The non-Premier League side of English football was back with a bang this weekend. Not only was there Kevin Phillips off the bench ninetysomethingth minute matchwinner for Birmingham in the Championship, there was this goal in League Two.

Barnet’s Ashley Carew strikes the free kick from inside his own half but still beat the Chesterfield keeper and found the bottom left corner. Did he mean it? Probably not, which is why 101 Great Goals left it off their Top 10 Goals of the Week. But it’s still fun to watch.
