Cardiff City Fans to Rent a Blimp to Overcome Wolverhampton Match Ban
By: Bob | January 11th, 2007
Match ban? What match ban? Thirty Cardiff City supporters have a brilliant plan in place to watch their club’s upcoming away tilt against Wolverhampton Wanderers despite a ban against away supporters. The fans have decided to take to take to the air by chartering a blimp that will hover over the Wolverhampton grounds during the match.
Costing a “few thousand” for nine hours of use on the day of the match, the group’s organizer Steve Day says they plan on having a grand old time in the sky above:
“We will take a few drinks and sandwiches on-board and have a bit of fun,” said Mr Day.
“Apparently it’s a bit rickety and it’s non-smoking but it should be good.
“All those aboard are Cardiff City supporters and are aggrieved at not seeing the game and we wanted to make our point and have a bit of fun.
“We looked at the law and found a loophole,” he added.
Whether the Wolverhampton fans also take to the sky for a rousing game of Dueling Hooligan Blimps remains to be seen, but for the sake of everyone you are asked to keep your crossbows at home during this match.
Thanks Nick at the Manchester United Offside for the tip.
