Arsenal Fans: Leave you Inflatable Phones and Fake Bank Notes at Home
By: Bob | December 8th, 2006
If you are even a casual fan of the English Premier League you probably know by now that Chelsea is playing Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Always a big match, this one has heightened significance because former Gunner Ashley Cole will be suiting up for Chelsea. This has led to the predictable tabloid stories this week and the predictable revelations about Jens Lehmann’s reading habits. It has led Arsenal fans to come up with all kinds of ways to express their disdain for the one some call Cashley and for Chelsea fans to express their feelings about Arsenal.
It has also led the club itself to take the unusual step of issuing a statement aimed at dampening the We Hate You Mutherfucker Cole lovefest that some are predicting. From the Arsenal Web site:
Those of you attending the above match on Sunday will know there are a number of actions planned against individuals at Chelsea by a small minority of Arsenal fans. The Club would like all supporters to be aware that anyone found to be bringing in inflatable mobile phones or fake bank notes will be either refused entry or ejected from the ground.
No inflatable mobile phones? No fake bank notes? Are they serious?
At least they aren’t banning Polonium-210 or inflatable penises.

Bob
I can’t see any mention about a certain Mr William ‘I hadn’t won any significant trophies before I came to Chelsea and then won TWO Premiership titles etc before I crossed the water, joined Emirates XI and now have injured my thigh so I cannot play against my old team-mates who have now become my enemies because of what I said in the newspapers, plus I dont like playing at full-back, but I enjoy playing in this position for my new club Arsenal otherwise known as Emirates XI at Cashburton Grove and I think now that Ashley Cole has made the better move than I have. But I did score some wonderful goals at Chelsea and really looked that I DID enjoy myself in all of those years!!!!”Gallas not being playing at The Bridge on Sunday really makes me not wanna go to the game!!!

At least Ashley’s getting some support from gays rights firebrand Peter Tatchell and his group Outrage!
Since the tabloids ran their story of Cole having a gay affair the Arsenal fans have been singing about it, but Tatchell says its now time to stop.‘Bigotry has no place in football. Arsenal fans continue to abuse him about his sexuality. There is nothing wrong with a bit of banter by football fans. Much of it is clever, imaginative and very funny. Having moved to a rival club, Ashley Cole has to expect ridicule from Arsenal fans. But taunts involving racism or homophobia are a taunt too far.’
He’s a big boy Peter (no pun intended), I’m sure he’s willing to take plenty of banter and ridicule for the trucks loads of money he’s picking up every week.

Blueblood58–that’s quite a nickname! Although I must admit, it doesn’t really roll off of the tongue.
Anyway, looking forward to the match this weekend.

Okay, how did I miss the Ashley Cole gay affair story? Or are you making that up to mess with us and see how fast it travels?

This was a big story for a while earlier this year. The two biggest tabloids in Britain, The Sun and the News of the World ran stories saying Ashley Cole was involved with another footballer and a DJ from a London radio station. Ashley denied everything.
