Carlos Tevez’s Punishment: Wear a Brazil Shirt and Stay at West Ham
By: Bob | November 29th, 2006
Oh the hijinks. As part of his punishment for abandoning his West Ham teammates after being yanked from their match this past weekend, the Argentine Carlos Tevez is being forced to wear a Brazil shirt for the next week of practice. An Argentine wearing a Brazil jersey, where have we seen this joke before?
In addition to giving a good ribbing to their teammate, perhaps the West Ham players are secretly hoping that the punishment will have the affect of actually making Tevez play better. You know, like many of his Brazilian counterparts in Europe who haven’t been tremendous flops and who haven’t walked out on their team because they were substituted out of a game. I’m hoping that is the case as well. When he is on his game, Tevez is a joy to watch.
If I were Tevez, I would wait until the last day of the punishment and show up wearing a Chelsea kit. We all know he is headed there eventually, right? Hmmm, that rumor doesn’t seem to hold much water these days, now does it?
