Chicharito Scores With his Face in Community Shield

This probably wasn’t how Javier Hernandez imagined scoring his first goal in English football:


It was the second half of Manchester United vs. Chelsea in the Community Shield Antonio when Valencia crossed and Chicharito (which has now progressed from nickname to actual back of Manchester United jersey name) attempted a rather suave looking volley, only to lose his balance and kick the ball into his own face.

Which could have been a horrible embarrassment. But such is Chicharito’s good fortune right now that the ball bounced off the Mexican striker’s mug and into the net to make the score 2-0. Seems Javier Hernandez can do no wrong, even when he does.

Final score was Man United 3-1 Chelsea. Video highlights below:
