Didier Drogba Sings the Blues

By: Bob | October 18th, 2007

dd.jpgNow that the international break is over and the preseason NBA fashion show has come to an end, it is time for footballers the world over to pack their bags and head back to the clubs that finance their lifestyles. Some will be eager to return to their clubs and to resume league battle. Didier Drogba is not one of them.

The Chelsea striker has had some time to think about the state of things at Stamford Bridge and upon further reflection he’d rather be spending his time somewhere more pleasant like Guantanamo Bay.

“I want to leave Chelsea,” he is quoted as saying in an issue of France Football magazine that will be published on Friday morning. “Something is broken with Chelsea.

“The damage has been big in the dressing room because we know now what happened and who caused Mourinho’s departure.

“Nothing can stop me from leaving now.”

Just to be clear about things, he continues on:

“Since the day I arrived, I wanted to leave Chelsea and then again every summer,” he said. “I know that Ronaldinho and Kaka are linked to come next season but even that won’t change my mind.”

Poor guy has been unhappy making gobs of money playing for a successful club in a fabulous city since day one. As we cue the violins and sharpen our pencils to write a message of condolence to Drogbacite and wait for tomorrow when he claims that he was misquoted and that he loves Chelsea more than life itself, let’s do a little speculating as to where his future may lie and most importantly where he can rest his head at night feeling happy and satisfied. In other words, where do you think Drogba will end up next?

AC Milan seems like the only team that has room. This can be Ronaldo’s last year before a move to the MLS, Gilardino has a good game every 12 matches and how much longer is Inzaghi gonna be a force?

    oi Bob!!!

Time difference sucks. You get paid to write these stories, I get paid to work!!!

Let him go if he wants to go, but replace him with that bloke who scored twice against England last night.

    More to come

Shane - With the new shape he’s in, Roanldo won’t come to the MLS.

Drogba came to Chelsea in spite of him. He said it himself in the interview. He said it took mourinho and his staff for him not ot leave every summer. He was let go from marseille because of the price Chelsea was willing to offer. He says only five clubs interest him, barcelona and madrid, Milan and Inter or marseille.

Is Didier Drogba Going to AC Milan, Inter, or Where?

I will agree with Shane tht AC Milan will be the best Italian team at the moment for DROGBA if he chooses to come to Italy.

Inter have already a “wide selection of strikers” and not sure whether Drogba will fit there. I don’t think Mancini will leave Ibrahimovic on the bench for Drogba… well, we never know.

However, in AC Milan, Drogba will be a perfect fit because he will most likely be among the starting line up since he is more fit and consistent than Gilardino, Inzaghi and Ronaldo… maybe too early to predict.

what makes everyone think its going to be an italian club? I could see him going to another english club. Even a spanish one. Madrid, always seems to have cash to blow. Maybe even villa can scrape together some cash and make a call or two. If drogba wants to leave because he is unhappy basically every team has a chance. i hope he goes to a team that needs him like villa,(fat chance) but it seems as though he1s gonna chase that player of teh trophy in madrid or milan so well just have to see. is he a prick or is he a hero? only time will tell
