Eduardo Makes Arsenal Return; Leaves Injured Again.

This is so typically 2008-09 Arsenal, unfortunately. When something goes right, it goes twice as wrong the next day.

Eduardo da Silva made his return back from that horrific leg break last spring in Birmingham for the Arsenal reserves this evening. He started the 2-0 over Portsmouth’s reserves – obviously not a very good lot – but unfortunately had to be subbed off injured at the half with a hammy twinge.

“At the moment I’m better and feel very happy.

“I came off at half-time because I felt something in my hamstring but think I will be alright in two weeks.

“My situation with the injury was very hard but I have to forget everything bad in my life.”

Frustrating, but comparatively wonderful given his last game. Two weeks will merely seem like the blink of an eye.

According to the Telegraph (will look for highlights, surely will be around somewhere), his first noticeable moment on the pitch was a just-this-side-of-subtle dive.

Sporting garish luminous green boots, seemingly the order of the day amongst the Arsenal striking fraternity at present, his first act was to dive outrageously in the box under minimal contact in the fifth minute.

I think he can be forgiven on this occasion. Simply wonderful that he’s back on the pitch. Any pitch at that.
