ESPN Are Anti-Big 4; Name Hull City Preseason Prem Favorites.

By: chris | June 17th, 2009

ESPN’s football coverage is, shall we say, sub-par at best – which is fine, they do the others well enough. The economic recession forced them to, presumably, fire all of their Soccernet copy editors, resulting in strange typo after strange typo. And now they’ve got more faith in Frazier Campbell than we do, putting Hull City atop their initial 2009-10 Premier League table. A surge which will knock Man Utd into the Europa League and Liverpool & Chelsea out of the European spots all together. Not quite fans of the Big Four monopoly, are they?

(Nor do they apparently have much faith in Man City’s vaults of oil.)

u guys are on the comments section on The Offside, and somehow you all act as if ESPNsoccernet is below your level. thats ironic as hell. it's got some problems with coverage outside England, but couldnt that be said for pretty much all english language football sites.
  • I can't be faulted because Campbell's parents spelled his name incorrectly.

"resulting in strange typo after strange typo"...

What do they say about living in glass houses and throwing stones? You've mentioned one player in this article, and you've got his name wrong. :)

Somebody archive this post, check it after the opening week of the Prem... ESPN may be having a touch of the mystics

I love how winning the league is 'a bit' optimistic, and then you say #I doubt we'll finish higher than second'. Brilliant. For that, I hope to see Hull in Europe next season! Surely a top 10 finish this season will be a massive achievement?

ESPN have seen the future, the future is bright, the future is amber and black. That said, it's a bit optimistic, I doubt we'll finish higher than second !

^overreact much? jeez. i agree with Utku. I don't know about the actual station, but soccernet is pretty good most of the time.

What do ESPN know about Football (Soccer)..Nothing. I can't stand any North American subject talking about the greatest sport in the world when they know nothing. They should keep to the boring sports like baseball and basketball. Sports for mindless idiots.

I'd love to see that but can't really imagine it ever happening. Having said that what do you expect from ESPN?
  • Utku
espn is imo the most non-respected soccer news/opinion source in all of the internet
  • Mike
Yeah, but wouldn't it make a nice change?
  • Dhaw
Maybe they playing a lot of Football Manager. Only then I see Hull winning it
  • martin
It is pretty strange, usually it goes in alphabetical order. I'm sure not what order this is supposed to be.
  • Whoa whoa, who said anything was wrong with this?
