Wayne Rooney has an explanation for why he can’t seem to make it through a match without picking up a red card. It is the fault of those headline-grabbing referees who are picking on him.

Said Rooney while he was busy trying to capture headlines while promoting his new autobiography:

“Possibly I am getting picked on,” he said.”Referees get a lot of headlines with some decisions they make. I am not having a go at referees but that is the way the game has gone. Sometimes, referees have to take the consequences of that.”
