Al that is complete rubbish. There was nothing wrong with the timing, adding extra added time for further incidents is completely normal. And those are some pretty serious accusations. Yes United get some decisions go their way, but they get just as many against them.

Well- it was way over 4 minutes. The ref was waiting for that goal or for City to come to close to an opportunity. Unfortunately, this is an ugly part of the beautiful game. The famous clubs get little extras. It is hard to care here, however, as City is just vying to do the same. Winning at all costs is a good book on the history of this sort of ‘miracle’ victory in the Italian game. I know not of such a book for England although I am sure one exists.

According to Match of the Day (I haven’t confirmed this myself), the combined times for Man City’s goal celebration, the substitution, and the foul / yellow card by Carlos Tevez all added up to 1 minute 26 seconds, with the goal being scored at 95:27.

What’s to debate?

Ryan, I agree completely. I saw it on EPL Talk where the time added up for this match. The problem is that refs don’t always follow it as strictly as was done today. Also, 7 goals by British players. How’s that, Mr. Platini?

The thing needs to be looked at though. The United fans response from fans I’ve talked to so far, have said it is at MINIMUM 4 added minutes, which is true, I have no argument with that. But if that is the rule(and it is) how about every ref starts following it? Remember the Champions League final 3 years ago? 3 minutes supposed to be added on, the ref blew for full time after 2:45. Doesn’t he know it’s a MINIMUM of 3 minutes?

Ya know Referees have Digital Watches which they use to stop and start the time, which is why they have two watches almost always. It’s not rocket science, it’s just keeping time. So if the referee sees that he hasn’t reached 90 mins of playing time yet, than there’s still time to go.

When Liverpool and Chelsea drew 4-4 how much extra time was added because of goal celebrations? Today Chelsea’s game there was supposed to be at least 10 minutes of injury time. However, they only gave 8. I am quite sure that no time was added for each of Chelsea’s 3 goals celebrations. Where is the consistency?

If City’s goal was after 90 minutes then there was supposed to be at least 7 minutes of added time.
