Hahaha that video is fantastic! And I think the reason Sir Alex decided to dress down was to match to Scolari, who always wears his track suit by the pitch instead of a suit. Although, methinks it backfired since Scolari, although a bit round, still looks hard, while Ferguson… just looked pudgy and foolish.

Yeah, he normally dresses up a bit. I genuinely suspect that Fergie’s sartorial decisions had something to do with the whole financial meltdown. Wouldn’t be hugely surprised to learn that all the Man Utd staff wore prominent AIG logos to remove any doubts about the status of the sponsorship deal.
