It has been a Good Couple of Days for Wayne Rooney

Fresh on the heels of celebrating his marvelous goal against Portsmouth in the FA Cup, Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney can also celebrate that he won’t be called to testify in a case involving a 52-year-old grandmother of 16 with whom he allegedly had sex.
Patricia Tierney’s libel lawsuit against the English tabloid The Sun was thrown out of court today after it was revealed that she admitted working as a prostitute in a statement to police a couple of years ago. There had been talk that Rooney would be called to testify in the case.
Those of you who are forever haunted by the image of Rooney shagging a grandmother will recall that The Sun printed a picture of Tierney under the headline “Don’t fancy yours much Wayne” amidst allegations a few years back that Rooney was keen on visiting message parlors and prostitutes, something that he later chalked up to being a youthful indiscretion.
Tierney was seeking some money from The Sun to help heal the damage to her “reputation”.
In the May 2002 police statement shown to the court, Tierney said she worked in housekeeping and as a receptionist but added: “On other days I would act as a sex worker. My role would be to provide sex services to clients.”
Justice Clarke said the statement proved Tierney was a liar. Tierney told the court she could not read, that the police statement misrepresented her and she didn’t know what she was signing.
An illiterate 52-year-old sex worker grandmother of 16 who lies. She sounds like a keeper, Wayne.
