It hasn’t been a good month for Andy van der Meyde

tom19.jpgHere is some unsolicited advice to Andy van der Meyde’s teammates at Everton: stay the hell away from the guy. The Dutch midfielder’s last name apparently translates as “guy who is the source of bad luck.”

After leaving the hospital after he was allegedly drugged during the night at on the town in Liverpool and after being fined by his club for being out that night when he shouldn’t have been, van der Meyde now is urgently appealing for the return of his puppy, Mac, after it was stolen during a burglary at his home where thieves also stole a Ferrari, a Mini Cooper and eight Rolex watches (van der Meyde must be one punctual dude).

“Obviously I want my stuff back, but I want Mac back more than anything. He is just a puppy,” Van der Meyde, 26, told the Liverpool Echo newspaper. “I would be prepared to pay a reward to anybody who gets him back for me.”

Proving that criminals are not always the brightest bulbs in the proverbial tool shed, police have recovered the vehicles but not the dog, which is a guard dog similar to the one in the movie Turner and Hooch. Police do not think that Tom Hanks is a suspect at this time.

Can’t wait to see what fun things happen to van der Meyde tomorrow….
