Talk about a birthday surprise. Imagine the joy that the Manchester United fan had when he opened up a present from his wife for his 40th birthday and discovered that she had given him a £550 season ticket to Old Trafford. The perfect present, right? Well, it turns out that it was the perfect present but a present that was given four months and 11 home games too late. She waited until his birthday to give him the bloody tickets. Doh! A fellow United supporter who sits near the man at Old Trafford said: “A few of us noticed the seats were empty. His wife mustn’t know much about football. He must be gutted.” I’m gutted just reading about it.
