Jay DeMerit may want to get a Rabies Shot

demeritt28rs.jpgNow that the English FA has decided that it is kosher for a player to take a little nibble out of another player’s arm, we can all eagerly anticipate whether or not we will see Jermain Defoe offer up a repeat performance this Saturday when Tottenham faces Watford. One player who will be keeping an eye on Defoe’s mastication habits is the American Watford defender Jay DeMerit.

‘It was a negative incident, so to speak, and that is something we can exploit and make to work in our favour,’ said DeMerit, 26. ‘If Jermain Defoe carries that anger into Saturday’s game, we can use it to our advantage.

‘[The biting incident] was one of those mad moments, which everyone seems to have. Hopefully my shoulders will come through unscathed on Saturday.’

If DeMerit’s shoulders are introduced to Defoe’s incisors he thinks it might not be the worse thing for his career.

The American continued: ‘If he were to do it to me, I would probably make the most of it, because you have to take advantage of those kinds of things.’

I’m not entirely sure how DeMerit could take advantage of being on the receiving end of a Defoe bite, but it might just give him something new to sing about. Perhaps he could try his luck at a Misfits cover that also aptly describes the state of his Watford team.

Ahhh c'mon Bob... Take it easy on Jay. If you had been paying attention to Watford's games (other than the Fullham debacle when they shoulda won and the Arsenal game) They have been in every match... If they are still winless and in 18th or lower on the table come Feb. Yes start talkin smack.
