Luis Suarez Breaks The Most Breaking News

He dives.

Not quite shocking. Not really breaking anymore, either.

But it is quite nice to see a professional footballer admit when they go over a little too easily from time to time. Some, like Leonardo Bonucci, have done so recently as well. Sergio Busquets has confessed to breathing, so he’s on the list as well. Luis was referring to one specific incident – that above versus Stoke City – but we’ll just generalize and say he’s admitted to being a diver. Big stretch, that.

Suárez has now admitted “falling” in an attempt to win a penalty, saying: “Football is like that. Sometimes you do things on the field that later you think, ‘Why the hell did I do that?’

“I was accused of falling inside the box in a match and it’s true I did it that time, because we were drawing against Stoke at home and we needed anything to win it. But after that everybody jumped out to talk – the Stoke coach and the Everton coach … I understood that the name Suárez sells [papers].”

He also mentioned that foreigners in the Premiership are treated differently, citing Kun Aguero and Carlos Tevez as examples.

Using Carlos Tevez as an example of mistreatment probably isn’t the best strategy.
