Mad Jens Is Back! (Brings Lawyers)

The man, the myth, the maniacal legend has returned to grace us with his wondrously insane ways – Mad Jens is back.

There is a law in Germany which states Jens must cause drama with each and every goalkeeper who happens to own a German and/or Polish passport. Just the way it is.

After some less than kind words to Tim Wiese, he found himself on the wrong end of retaliation. So he sued, obviously.

(Does this qualify him for an American passport?)

Lehmann recently came out of retirement to return to Arsenal. While working as a television commentator in September, Lehmann criticised Wiese’s performance in a Champions League match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Wiese responded a day later in a newspaper by saying Lehmann should “go to the Muppet Show” and be treated “on a couch”.

Lehmann is demanding €20,000 (£17,636) for having his “personal rights violated”. A Munich court will hear the case this week.

Why does going to the Muppet Show have to be a bad thing? That sounds like the splendid use of an evening.

Oh.
