Man City and The Second Coming, Part II
By: Daryl | July 29th, 2010Following the borderline blasphemous news this morning that Man City signed Jesus Christ himself, The Offside can exclusively reveal that He’s already been there. At least on television.
The above clip is from the 2003 ITV mini-series The Second Coming, starring Christopher Ecclestone as Jesus Christ. Here’s the setting: The Messiah makes his return to earth, in Manchester of course, and chooses Man City’s Maine Road stadium as the place to perform his first miracle. Which is of course the reason Man City had to move to the City of Manchester Stadium that same year.
