Mido doesn’t have Sol Campbell on his Fantasy Team
By: Bob | September 29th, 2006
The ancient sport of trash talking has largely gone the way of the Dodo in recent years with football players afraid to ruffle too many feathers and the standard politically correct quotes about respecting opponents and the such filling the papers.
Tottenham forward Mido isn’t playing that game, however. The diminutive player hasn’t done much of anything this season, but he is eager to face Portsmouth this weekend and he doesn’t mince his words when he describes the reason why.
“They have Sol Campbell at the back and he is the easiest defender I have ever played against. I’m not scared of him.”
Mido is probably not the only one who isn’t afraid of the declining skills of Sol Campbell these days, but his comments are refreshing if for no other reason that to add some drama to a Tottenham-Portsmouth match. With most players we would think that such words might inspire them to play their ass off to prove Mido wrong, but your guess is as good as ours as to what will go through Campbell’s cluttered mind when he comes across the quote.
Playing mind games with a mind that already is a mess; Mido might not have the goal scoring down this season but he is in good trash talking form.

Mido better hope Sol isn’t a ZZ fan, if so a headbutt is in store for him.
