Paul Jewell Gets on the Other End of a Spanking

Paul Jewell sex tape When you hear “kinky sex scandal” you don’t immediately think “Paul Jewel” do you? Or at least you didn’t use to. But Jewell’s face was in The Sun today, after they discovered that Derby County manager - and I quote - “filmed himself in an hour-long bondage romp with a blonde.” And The Sun’s evil sister The News of the World published a more up close account of events yesterday, complete with Derby County badges covering everyone’s naughty bits in the photos. Which probably didn’t go down well with PJ’s wife.

What Paul Jewell gets up to behind closed doors (or, according to The Sun, on top of his Mercedes) won’t affect his position at Derby, where chairman Adam Pearson has simply said “It’s a private matter.” But it might explain how Jewell found himself managing the Premier League’s bottom team in the first place.

Jewell’s departure from Wigan seemed strange at the time, especially to take on a club with considerably less hope of staying in the Premier League, and a lot of commentators wondered what the hell he was doing. Well - thanks to tabloid newspapers - now we (might) know.

Because apparently this sex tape was filmed while PJ was Wigan boss, so The Sun are half-speculating that Jewell quit Wigan to “save his marriage” by moving away to Derby and trading in spanking his blonde girlfriend for seeing his team get spanked every week instead.

All sordid speculation of course. But this story, coupled with Thierry Henry’s admission that his poor form is due to the break up of his marriage - is a timely reminder that not all football decisions are made purely for football reasons.

And the good news is that now The Offside’s inevitable Sex Tape XI has a manager to keep the goalkeeper and outfield players in check.
