Newcastle fans in my opinion desperately needed this reality check. They’re an incredibly deluded set of people. They think they’re a great, fantastic, historic club but the truth of it is that the majority of premier league teams have better histories. Stoke and West Ham, for instance.

Also. Newcastle’s performances over the last 8 games can be described by one word – impotent. Even before the final whistle to say “they didn’t look like scoring” would be an understatement. They didn’t even try to score! Absolutely pathetic. Keeping Shearer is a sure way to ensure they follow Leeds down another tier.
