Rooney Sent Off in Friendly. It Must be Ronaldo’s Fault

Wayne Rooney is continuing his form from the World Cup. In an exhibition match today against FC Porto, the Manchester United forward received a straight red card for an elbow that landed on Pepe’s face.

We weren’t at the match nor have we seen the highlights so we can only speculate that Rooney was trying to elbow teammate Cristiano Ronaldo’s mug and somehow ended up hitting the Porto player.

There is one problem with our theory. Ronaldo wasn’t with the squad in Amsterdam as he remained behind in England to work on his fitness. It is part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s master plan to never have the two plays in the same country, let alone on the same pitch.

Rooney’s teammate Paul Scholes was also sent off. Both players might be forced to sit out Man U’s opening match.

Oooooooooh! Some well needed humbling for English soccer fans. Perhaps now they can shut-up about how Ronaldo ruined their world cup.

    *Sigh* What a priceless moment…
