The third World War which is currently brewing over the Great Charlie Adam Tackle of 2012 is quite something, because if you’d read the reports, with Charlie being called a “coward,” you’d think ol’ Charlie came into the challenge with an arsenal of medieval weaponry and a dancing street gang. And then you watch the clip. And. And. And…

Remember when Nigel De Jong put his studs into Xabi Alonso’s torso? That’s the type of thing we’re looking for. This is, well, the type of tackle you’d expect from someone like Adam in late July.

(The two do have a bit of a history, with Adam ending Bale’s season a couple year’s back with an ankle injury. Bale’s furor is understandable.)
