Moz for England!

By: Martha | December 11th, 2007

Clearly writing very late at night and in the company of a large bottle of alcohol, Guardian blogger Steven Wells may just have stumbled across the perfect man to take the England helm: Steven Patrick Morrissey. Yes, that one.

Ok, I know it sounds crazy, but wait! Wells figures that if you follow the “an Englishman for England” argument to its logical conclusion, the man who gets the job must embody all things England. And, despite being Irish, Wells argues Morrissey is “the is the most English person alive apart from Mrs Thatcher, who is a woman.” (He’s got a point with that last bit, at least.) Plus, he’s a football fan. What could possibly go wrong?

Plus, Moz could scout Beckham between watching his beloved Chivas USA play at the Home Depot Center.
