No Wonder Aston Villa aren’t Popular

aston-villa-home-jersey-2006-08_large.jpgYou know it is a slow news day when we offer you another story about that oh-so-unpopular Aston Villa. Hey, it beats us blathering about our much beloved Kazakhstan kicking serious arse in Euro 2008 qualifying.

Today’s second Villains story comes courtesy of a school that is located within drunk stumbling distance of rival Birmingham City’s stadium. Some of the parents and pupils at the school are up in arms because the school uniforms have been switched from Birmingham City blue to Aston Villa claret.

Pupil Danielle Murray, 10, added: “I think a lot of people will still wear blue because that is our team’s colour and it shows we are all true blue.”

And disgusted Birmingham City Supporters Club member Tom Foley raged: “I can’t believe they are making the loyal children of Blues fans wear Villa colours. It is outrageous.”

Actually, it would be kind of amusing if the colours involved weren’t so ugly. Maybe Pink Floyd had it right. We don’t need no education….

Now, back to Kazakhstan.
