Barthez the Human Adventure is Looking for a Human Adventure

barthez beach.JPGFans of the bald headed, chain smoking, goal wandering France keeper Fabien Barthez are rejoicing today at the news that he wants to play for two more years and he wants to continue to represent his country.

Barthez is currently without a club after playing last season for Marseille. What is he looking for in a club team? Not a Champions League appearance, not a shot at a league title, but rather:

“What I want is a human adventure, with a trainer who trusts me 200 per cent — like it was at Marseille and the France team,” he said.

We have no idea what Barthez means by a human adventure but if he is looking for something different we suggest he play in Romania.

Barthez maintains that he will always be available to play for Les Bleus, but his World Cup teammate Vikash Dhorasoo has no plans to continue his international career.

“If you ask me if I’m still interested to play for France I’ll answer you that I’m not,” he said. “I’m not interested in playing for Les Bleus anymore. It’s over. That’s it.”

Some of those World Cup matches left us less than interested as well, but if we were a) French b) remotely talented at football c) asked to play for Les Blues, we would probably find a bit of interest in the matter.
