banner-a28.jpgAfter his leg broke in horrific fashion in a tune-up match for the World Cup, it would have been perfectly acceptable for Djibril Cissé to sit around on his couch, eating bon bons and feeling sorry for himself as his France teammates made their run to the World Cup final. But that is not how the Olympique Marseille striker lives his life. He likes to keep it real. He is more than just a footballer, he is an artist and he is a car pimp.

Cissé is back in action these days for Marseille and his return to the pitch coincides nicely with the release of his new music album, The DJ Inside Me, which features prominently on his MySpace page. Every true artist gets grove on with MySpace. Djbiril is no exception.

Here is an automated translation of the album’s description:

To discover the musical tastes of the celebrities whom one loves, to lend the ear to the melodies that they fredonnent and to penetrate in their universe through the sound which they listen to… it are all the bet of Music & Me. A series of original compilations and intimists (CD/DVD/Livret), which invites you to appreciate your stars preferred under one day new by stopping you, the time of a disc, on what the fact of dancing, kiffer, of dreaming… Music &, it is to Me as the occasion to wake up with artists as one did not know inevitably and to let itself guide by these high-speed motorboats which agreed to make you share the musics which make them vibrate. Their watchword: to give pleasure for you pleasure! Bet successful for the first volume of the series… Music & I were invited in the footballer Djibril Cissé who, if it excels in art to juggle, holds the music for the second passion. Djib opened to us the doors from its house in Liverpool to make us discover its blows of heart and speak to us about this music which always occupied a central place in its life. DJ since many years, it mixed for you its vinyls preferred with inter alia titles impossible to circumvent of Masters At Work, Bob Sinclar or Groove Armada.

If that doesn’t confuse you enough, try watching Cissé pimp his ride on MTV:
